24V valves operate on a lower current so things like power supplies with a lower capacity can be used.
24V technically operate (open) faster (partially due to the lower current) but for water drops I doubt you will notice the difference.

Why did I switch to 24V?
I had accumulated a lot of different power supplies and valves. When my main 12v power supply died I decided to settle on 24v and sorted out the equipment I was using; get rid of some of the 12v parts, upgrade others such as changing the 12v coils to 24v coils on my favourite 12v valves.

Mosfets Vs relays
Mosfets are much faster than relays and I wouldn’t normally recommend using relays, however, if you are happy with the results there is no reason to stop using them.
